Some clinics collect from patients in more than one currency. Before this update, a price in USD could only be treated like a converted version of the clinic price. Cash and reports could also put different currencies beside each other as though they were the same money.
Now you can set a real price for each currency and bill the patient in the currency you chose. A 60 USD service and a 500 EGP service are two prices you set yourself.
Set the price before you bill
Turn on multi-currency for the clinic when you are ready. Then open Price Lists and make a list for each currency you accept.
Add the examination, product, or package prices to that list. The system only lets you issue a foreign-currency invoice when the whole basket has prices in that currency. It does not guess a price from today’s exchange rate.
In Settings, open Exchange Rates to see the current rate, when it was updated, and its history. A manager can enter a rate when needed. If a rate is old, the team sees a clear warning before issuing the invoice.
The invoice says what the patient pays
When the patient is billed in USD, the invoice, receipt, payment, refund, and treasury movement say USD. The clinic’s regular totals still keep their normal clinic-currency value, using the rate saved at that moment.
That means a later rate change does not rewrite an old invoice. Installments can still finish the invoice in the currency the patient was charged in.
Wallet balances, loyalty, and gift cards stay in the clinic currency. They do not quietly pay a foreign-currency invoice.
Keep each drawer and report clear
Give a foreign-currency cash drawer its own currency. You can see the actual cash amount, its clinic-currency value, and the rate used to value it.
Open Finance, then Currency Dashboard for sales, refunds, collections, outstanding amounts, cash positions, conversions, and exchange differences. Each currency stays on its own line. USD and EGP are never added together as one number.
At month end, the accountant can review the value of foreign cash and unpaid invoices using an approved closing rate. The change is recorded in the books with a clear trail.
What stays the same
You do not need this feature to keep billing in one currency. Until multi-currency is turned on for a clinic, its invoices, reports, screens, and totals work exactly as before.
