Delete Your Account

We respect your right to control your data. This page explains how to permanently delete your Smart Clinic account and what happens to your information.

Effective Date: December 1, 2025

If you no longer wish to use Smart Clinic, you can request the deletion of your account and personal data at any time. We provide two ways to do this: directly from the app, or by sending us a written request.

1Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

  1. 1Open the Smart Clinic app and sign in.
  2. 2Go to Settings → Account.
  3. 3Tap "Delete Account" and confirm.
  4. 4Enter your password to verify the request.
  5. 5You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is queued.

2Option 2 — Request by email

If you cannot access the app, send us a deletion request from the email address registered on your account:

Message must include:

  • Full name on the account
  • Registered email address
  • Clinic name (if applicable)
  • A short statement: "I confirm I want my Smart Clinic account permanently deleted."

What we delete

Your user profile (name, email, phone, login credentials)
Patient records and medical history you entered
Appointments, schedules, and clinic configuration
Uploaded files, documents, and attachments
Communications and chat history
Activity logs tied to your account

What we retain (and why)

Invoices & payment records

Egyptian tax law (and most jurisdictions) require us to retain billing records for up to 5 years. These are stored separately and used only for legal/accounting compliance.

Anonymized analytics

Aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you are kept to improve the product.

Backups

Encrypted backups may temporarily contain your data and are overwritten in the normal rotation cycle (within 30 days).

How long it takes

Within 24 hours

Your account is deactivated and you can no longer sign in.

Within 30 days

Your data is permanently deleted from our active systems.

Up to 30 additional days

Encrypted backups containing your data are rotated out and overwritten.

Important: this action is permanent

  • Your account cannot be restored once deletion is processed.
  • Active subscriptions will be cancelled at the end of the current billing period — no refund for unused time, unless required by law.
  • If you are the only administrator of a clinic with other users, deleting your account may also remove access for those users. Please transfer ownership first if needed.
